Who we are
Kit List publishes kitlistgames.com. For anything to do with your personal data, write to editors@kitlistgames.com or by post to Kit List, 384 Kingsbridge Drive, Rutherglen, Glasgow G73 2BX. We are the controller of the data described below.
What we collect, and why
When you read the site
Like any website, our host's servers record technical request logs: IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page and the time. These logs keep the site secure and working and help us spot abuse. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests. The logs are kept only for the short period our hosting provider sets for security purposes and are not used to identify or profile readers.
When you use the contact form or email us
We receive your name, email address, the topic you chose and your message, so that we can reply and, where you report an error, correct the page. Lawful basis: legitimate interests in answering you. We keep the conversation for up to twelve months after it ends, then delete it.
When you join the monthly email
We keep your email address and a record of when you agreed, only to send the monthly kit list. Lawful basis: your consent, which you can revoke at any time with the unsubscribe link in every issue or by emailing us. We delete the address when you leave.
What we never do
- No analytics, advertising or tracking tools of any kind run on this site.
- No personal data is sold, rented or shared for anyone else's marketing.
- No profiling and no automated decision-making.
Who else handles it
Our web host and our email provider process data on our behalf under contract and only on our instructions. If a provider processes data outside the UK, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement to protect it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, ask us to restrict or stop using it, object to our use of it, and take a copy with you. Where we rely on consent you can revoke it at any time. Email us and we will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Children
Kit List is written for adults and teenagers choosing games. It is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Local storage
If you use the light and dark switch, your browser remembers the choice. Details are on the cookies page.
Changes
If this notice changes we will update the date at the top of the page.
