Games for Xbox Series X|S
Xbox Series X and Series S cover most of the list. Free games play online for nothing; paid games need at least Game Pass Essential to play online.
Microsoft's current wording is that online multiplayer in paid games needs Game Pass Essential, Premium or Ultimate. Free-to-play games have not needed a subscription for online play since 2021. Game Pass tiers also decide whether you can stream games to a phone, a TV or a browser.
Series S is the smaller, cheaper console with less storage and power; every game here that is on Series X also runs on Series S, sometimes with lower settings.
