PlayStation 5 carries most of the list. The details that matter are which version you get, and whether online play needs PS Plus.

Free-to-play games can be played online on PS5 without a subscription. Paid games need PS Plus for online multiplayer, but not for playing alone or for local split-screen. Our online subscriptions page has the current UK prices.

Some games arrive as PS4 versions that play on PS5 through backward compatibility, and some purchases cover both versions at once. Where it matters, the note beside each game says which you get.

Setting it up well

  • Check whether a paid game's online features need PS Plus before buying a subscription for it.
  • Link your PSN account to publisher accounts early if you might also play on PC.
  • Set up family management and a monthly spending limit for younger players.
  • An M.2 NVMe drive in the expansion bay is the easiest way to add space.
